PLUCKED (2023–2026) — Re-Exhibition

Plucked emerged from the streets of Cairo and explores the relationship between the observer and the observed.

When walking through the city, it is difficult to stop and look at your surroundings without feeling the presence of observing glances. The work attempts to make this everyday street moment tangible and to create a space in which people can exist unnoticed and unjudged – while others observe them and, in turn, become observed themselves.

Conceived for Cairo, the work changes as soon as it is shown outside the city. It becomes a glimpse into an unfamiliar everyday reality, an exploration of a space that is unknown to many visitors.
