BIG SOUND

Big Sound is a stage design project developed for the WS 2025–2026 half yearly exhibition PODEST. A scaffolding stage was built outdoors in the FH Dortmund FB Design Campus courtyard, inspired by a love for music and sound and the idea of creating a space where music became the main element and the musicians became the main focus.

Built from Gerüst elements, the stage created a temporary space for live performance, gathering, and listening during the exhibition evening.

Over the course of the night, six musicians took the stage, presenting three different approaches to sound and music. Arkın Kodalak performed a one-and-a-half-hour live set, mixing prerecorded and digital sounds in real time and creating an atmosphere of intrigue and emotional involvement.

Afterwards, Flötentöten took the stage together with Fabian Jacob, Julian Fellinger, Julian Roessmann, and Roman Elvis Kirchhof, bringing a mix of rustic indie music and improvised jam sessions to the space.

Lastly, Bene took the stage with a vinyl set, closing the evening with a selection from his record collection.
